New York has the most stringent homeschool regulations in the country. Parents must submit an Individualized Home Instruction Plan (IHIP), quarterly reports, and annual assessments.
Submit notice of intent and IHIP to local school district. File quarterly reports. Provide instruction in patriotism and citizenship, substance abuse, traffic safety, fire safety, reading, writing, spelling, English, arithmetic, geography, U.S. history, science, health, art, music, and physical education.
